Procedural Ornate Column - Substance Designer - by Jonathan BENAINOUS

Here is a procedural column made in Substance Designer and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.

I wanted to explore more in detail the use of some new nodes from Designer 6, such as the text node and the curve node that I use massively on this project, combined with an excessive amount of tile sampler to add and subtract shapes.
I then played around with multiple slope blur nodes to get this carved stone effect and added all the gold ornaments and gems on top.
For the skulls and spines I used a free .Ztl file from badking.com and grabbed different height maps in Zbrush.
(Shout-out to Albert Soto for this brilliant idea that he used on his amazing catacomb texture!)

This column is going to be part of a bigger environment project where I will mix Dark Fantasy universe and ancient architecture.
It's probably going to end up with an Antichrist temple or something, we will see :)

Hope you'll like It!
